Masi Oka interview: on being a geek, an actor and hanging with Milo

Relish has a cool interview with Masi Oka, the geek/genius digital-effects artist who “drowned George Clooney” and now playing Hiro Nakamura in the show Heroes, who just happens hangs with Milo Ventimiglia -

“We don’t really party-party, but we definitely go to bars,” Oka said, adding that Ventimiglia was his mentor in that setting. “Oh, definitely, I’ve learned a lot. It’s quite an art form, watching Milo work.”

Masi was a Brown University graduate double majoring in math and computer-science and minor in theater. It seems the two pursuits are perfect, for him, at least -

“I’ve always loved using both the left and right sides of my brain,” Oka said. “Computer programming is about looking for solutions to problems. So is acting. There is a science to comedy.”
