Will it be Lex and Lana?
Lana found out she’s pregnant… with Lex’s child! And her face looked more devastated and confused, wishfully telling Clark how she wanted time to go back to how things were before…
Last week’s final scene in Smallville’s Static has Lex asking Lana to marry him. Will she?
Recap to season 5.9 “LEXMAS” where Lex is given a vision of married life with Lana. Poor and rejected by Lionel, but blissfully happy. And then Lana dies at the birth of their second child because Lionel will not help find a doctor for his estranged son’s wife. And we later find out Lex rejects that kind of life for money and power.
Recap to “Reunion”, Smallville 6.5. Lana was pregnant and then, the final scene showed the couple sharing a totally gloomy and formal thanksgiving dinner. Now the engagement proposal last week. Is this the start of the odd couple’s downwardly spiralling future together?
It will be interesting to find out how much darker Lex and Lana’s lives will unfold.

Well, we’ve already seen how Lana is slowly turning into a match for Lex - not that she’s anywhere up this his level yet, but hey, blackmail is certainly a few steps closer to the dark side than she was in high school.
And now that Lex still has his fortune, what’s the worry of losing a wife in childbirth when he can afford the best doctors money can buy?
I’m afraid we’ve lost the Lana we all loved - but if the show holds true to the old Superman storyline, she didn’t play much of a part in the movies, now did she?

i find it just sad though that Lex turned that his chance for a happier life. he and Lana may marry but i can see from her initial reaction to being pregnant that she’s not exactly happy. and i don’t think she’s completely in love with Lex… remember what she alluded to Clark, wishing that things were as before? she’s sticking to Lex only because he loves her, and keeps no secrets from her (at least she wants to think so) but i bet she’s still in love with clark.
besides what’s the use of having money if you’re unhappy?
